Beginner Ukulele Workshop

Join us for a 4 week beginner ukulele workshop lead by local musician Julia Higgins. Each Wednesday Julia will lead students through songs and instruction covering the basics of playing. 

You will need to bring your own ukulele to the sessions. This workshop is best suited for children ages 6 + and their caregivers. 

Pay for all four sessions in advance for only $12/per person (total cost $48.00).  You can pay for sessions individually at a cost of $15/per person (total cost $60.00). Register below.

Julia Higgins is a multi-instrumentalist who graduated from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) with a Bachelor of Music in jazz bass performance. During her tenure at CCM Julia played in Jazz Orchestra, Jazz Lab Band, Jazz Combos, Concert Orchestra, and participated in master classes with jazz artists Bill Charlap, John Fedchock, Benny Golson, Jimmy Heath, Rufus Reid, among others. She studied jazz bass privately at CCM with Aaron Jacobs, and classical bass outside of school with Rick Vizachero. Julia is also a proficient performer and teacher on the ukulele and guitar. 
 
While at CCM she began her freelance career, teaching and playing around the greater Cincinnati area. Julia is an in-demand player in a variety of commercial styles, including jazz, bluegrass/Americana, gospel, musical theater, pop and rock. She has performed with jazz legends such as John Von Ohlen, and Phillip Paul. Regularly she plays with Americana group, Wild Carrot. She has also done numerous musicals at venues such as The Carnegie, The Warsaw Federal Incline Theater, CCM, NKU, and The Covedale. She has played with the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, and continues to perform regularly with the Butler Philharmonic.
